VISUAL STUDIES
My early paintings were abstract, guided by intuition and process, before figures slowly revealed themselves through the paint. For my first few series, words were intentionally held back—out of a desire to distance myself from my career as a copywriter. While language ultimately became central to the practice, I continue to return to visual-only explorations as a way of resetting, listening, and allowing meaning to emerge without instruction.
