OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND

A public installation created in response to the climate crisis and society’s tendency to ignore what feels distant or inconvenient. Inspired by the growing visibility of homelessness in urban spaces, a glowing camping tent was installed and moved through public locations across Austin—from downtown sidewalks to the Texas State Capitol—linking environmental neglect and social displacement as parallel forms of collective blindness. By disrupting everyday space and inviting public attention, the work asked viewers to consider what we choose not to see.
