Hans Brinker Budget Hotel
Roy Tizdon was given a free hotel room in exchange for the photographs of his choice, which
would later be used to advertise the The Hans Brinker Budget Hotel. For two months, he invited
travelers, hotel staff, and street performers up to his room to take a bath in the hotel’s only tub.
The result was not a typical advertising campaign, but an art exhibition at the hotel, a retail book
that is for sale at the hotel and in international bookstores, and tons of publicity for the cultish
youth hostel.
